LAS VEGAS – It’s bound to backfire, as in the justice of the peace race between Jim Gubler and Suzan Baucum. Gubler was inaccurately critical of Baucum’s armload of major endorsements, then was chastised by Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Jane Ann Morrison, creating fodder for a bruising Baucum mass mailer.

LAS VEGAS– [James Gubler] wants to “set the record straight” that his opponent, Suzan Baucum, former executive director of the Nevada Law Foundation, is trying to fool voters into thinking she has three endorsements that are his.
Naturally, I checked it out. The website where her endorsements are listed clearly stated that these three groups endorsed her when she ran in 2008. She’s not claiming they endorsed her this time. But voters won’t know that from Gubler’s indignant mailer.

LAS VEGAS – Suzan Baucum, candidate for Las Vegas Justice Court, Department 13, launched her new campaign website, www.SuzanBaucum.com today. She is the first candidate for the Department 13 seat with a fully functional campaign website up and running.
Baucum launched the site as a one-stop resource for voters and the public. They can learn about her legal, judicial, and community experience. They can also sign up to support and get involved with the campaign.

LAS VEGAS, NV – Suzan Baucum officially filed to run for Las Vegas Justice Court Judge, Department 13, which is one of the new judgeships created by the State Legislature in 2009. Suzan was the first candidate, and is the only woman, to file for the position.
Baucum is excited to hit the campaign trail, meet voters and earn their support. “I think voters deserve more than just another judge with a law degree. I have the right balance of legal, judicial and community experience to be a great judge. I’m looking forward to talking with voters about my qualifications, listening to their concerns and earning their support.”
