Dear friends and supporters,
Last night certainly held suspense for my family and me as we watched the Primary Election returns together.
When the last votes were counted, I missed the cutoff to advance to the General Election by two-tenths of one percent. That is the chance each one of us took when we filed for the Department 25 District Court seat, and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in our democratic method of election.
I’ve called the two candidates who will go on to the General Election and wished them both well.
The months of campaigning were very rewarding to me. As a native of Clark County with thirty years of volunteering in our community and 17 years of professional work, I still learned so much more about Southern Nevada, the people and the issues we all face.
More rewarding were the many, many people who believe in democracy and are willing to play a part in the elections. From other candidates, volunteers, organizers and voters, your words of encouragement and advice mean the world to me.
My thanks to everyone who voted, regardless of your choice, and thank you to the residents of Clark County for the wonderful opportunity.
Sincerely,

Suzan Baucum
